MOMENTS IN LIFE

There are moments in life when you miss someone
so much that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real!

When the door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often times we look so long at the
closed door that we don't see the one,
which has been opened for us

Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile,
because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright.
Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Dream what you want to dream;
Go where you want to go;
Be what you want to be,
b
ecause you have only one life
a
nd one chance to do all the things
y
ou want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet
enough trials to make you strong,
enough sorrow to keep you human and
enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily
have the best of everything;
they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always
be based on a forgotten past;
you can't go forward in life until
you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying
and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end,
you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

Please send this message to those people
who mean something to you;
to those who have touched your life in one way or another;
to those who make you smile when you really need it;
to those who make you see the
brighter side of things when you are really down;
to those whose friendship you appreciate;
to those who are so meaningful in your life.

Don't count the years - count the memories!

AN AFTERNOON OF SACRED MUSIC - BRUSSELS, 28 JUNE 2006

At 2:00 p.m. on June 28, 2006, twenty-two students from Wallace High School of Northern Ireland gave a concert of sacred music in Gaelic and Latin at the Cathedral of Saint Michel and Saint Gudule in Brussels, Belgium under the direction of David Falconer, the conductor. The group will also perform in Antwerp, Ghent and Leuven.

A LESSON OF LOVE

Carl was a quiet man. He didn't talk much. He would always greet you with a big smile and a firm handshake. Even after living in our neighborhood for over 50 years, no one could really say they knew him very well.

Before his retirement, he took the bus to work each morning. The lone sight of him walking down the street often worried us. He had a slight limp from a bullet wound received in WWII. Watching him, we worried that although he had survived WWII, he may not make it through our changing uptown neighborhood with its ever-increasing random violence, gangs, and drug activity.

When he saw the flyer at our local church asking for volunteers for caring for the garden behind the Minister's residence, he responded in his characteristically unassuming manner. Without fanfare, he just signed up.

He was well into his 87th year when the very thing we had always feared finally happened. He was just finishing his watering for the day when three gang members approached him. Ignoring their attempt to intimidate him, he simply asked, "Would you like a drink from the hose?"

The tallest and toughest-looking of the three said, "Yeah, sure," with a malevolent little smile. As Carl offered the hose to him, the other two grabbed Carl's arm, throwing him down. As the hose snaked crazily over the ground, dousing everything in its way, Carl's assailants stole his retirement watch and his wallet, and then fled.

Carl tried to get himself up, but he had been thrown down on his bad leg He lay there trying to gather himself as the Minister came running to help him.

Although the Minister had witnessed the attack from his window, he couldn't get there fast enough to stop it.

"Carl, are you okay? Are you hurt?" the Minister kept asking as he helped Carl to his feet. Carl just passed a hand over his brow and sighed, shaking his head.

"Just some punk kids. I hope they'll wise-up someday." His wet clothes clung to his slight frame as he bent to pick up the hose. He adjusted the nozzle and started to water again. Confused and a little concerned, the Minister asked, "Carl, what are you doing?"

"I've got to finish my watering. It's been very dry lately," came the calm reply. Satisfying himself that Carl really was all right, the Minister could only marvel. Carl was a man from a different time and place.

A few weeks later the three returned. Just as before, their threat was unchallenged. Carl again offered them a drink from his hose. This time, they didn't rob him.

They wrenched the hose from his hand and drenched him head to foot in the icy water. When they had finished their humiliation of him, they sauntered off down the street, throwing catcalls and curses, falling over one another laughing at the hilarity of what they had just done.

Carl just watched them. Then he turned toward the warmth-giving sun, picked up his hose, and went on with his watering. The summer was quickly fading into fall. Carl was doing some tilling when he was startled by the sudden approach of someone behind him. He stumbled and fell into some evergreen branches.

As he struggled to regain his footing, he turned to see the tall leader of his summer tormentors reaching down for him. He braced himself for the expected attack.

"Don't worry old man, I'm not gonna hurt you this time." The young man spoke softly, still offering the tattooed and scarred hand to Carl. As he helped Carl get up, the man pulled a crumpled bag from his pocket and handed it to Carl.

"What's this?" Carl asked. "It's your stuff," the man explained. "It's your stuff back. Even the money in your wallet."

"I don't understand," Carl said. "Why would you help me now?"

The man shifted his feet, seeming embarrassed and ill at ease. "I learned something from you," he said. "I ran with that gang and hurt people like you.

We picked you because you were old and we knew we could do it. But every time we came and did something to you, instead of yelling and fighting back, you tried to give us a drink. You didn't hate us for hating you. You kept showing love against our hate." He stopped for a moment. "I couldn't sleep after we stole your stuff, so here it is back." He paused for another awkward moment, not knowing what more there was to say.

"That bag's my way of saying thanks for straightening me out, I guess." And with that, he walked off down the street.

Carl looked down at the sack in his hands and gingerly opened it. He took out his retirement watch and put it back on his wrist. Opening his wallet, he checked for his wedding photo. He gazed for a moment at the young bride that still smiled back at him from all those years ago.

Carl died one cold day after Christmas that winter. Many people attended his funeral in spite of the weather. In particular, the Minister noticed a tall young man that he didn't know, sitting quietly in a distant corner of the church. The Minister spoke of Carl's garden as a lesson in life. In a voice made thick with unshed tears, he said, "Do your best and make your garden as beautiful as you can. We will never forget Carl and his garden."

The following spring another flyer went up. It read: "Person needed to care for Carl's garden." The flyer went unnoticed by the busy parishioners until one day when a knock was heard at the Minister's office door. Opening the door, the Minister saw a pair of scarred and tattooed hands holding the flyer.

"I believe this is my job, if you'll have me," the young man said.

The Minister recognized him as the same young man who had returned the stolen watch and wallet to Carl. He knew that Carl's kindness had turned this man's life around. As the Minister handed him the keys to the garden shed, he said, "Yes, go take care of Carl's garden and honor him."

The man went to work and, over the next several years, he tended the flowers and vegetables just as Carl had done. In that time, he went to college, got married, and became a prominent member of the community. But he never forgot his promise to Carl's memory and kept the garden as beautiful as he thought Carl would have kept it.

One day, he approached the new Minister and told him that he couldn't care for the garden any longer. He explained with a shy and happy smile, "My wife just had a baby boy last night, and she's bringing him home on Saturday."

"Well, congratulations!" said the Minister, as he was handed the garden shed keys. "That's wonderful! What's the baby's name?"

"Carl," he replied.

That's the whole gospel message simply stated.

Take 60 seconds, give this a shot! All you do is:
1. Simply say a small prayer for the person who sent you this, (Father, God bless this person in whatever it is that You know he or she may be needing this day!)

2. Then copy-paste and send it on to other people. Then sit back and watch the power of God work in your life for doing the thing that you know He loves.

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

The following message has been circulating for some years now and I'm still receiving it in my mailbox, plus in other languages. The first time I got it, I thought it was so genuine that I sent it to a lot of people I didn't even know in order to see how much money I'd be able to get from Bill Gates. Unfortunately, I haven't received yet a single cent up to this moment.

quote

This thing is for real. Rest assured AOL and Intel will follow through with their promises for fear of facing a multimillion-dollar class action suit similar to the one filed by PepsiCo against General Electric not too long ago.

Dear Friends; Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates sharing his fortune. If you ignore this, you will repent later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test.

When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) For a two weeks time period.

For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00 For every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that receives it, You will be paid $241.00. Within two weeks, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a check.

I thought this was a scam myself, But two weeks after receiving this e-mail and forwarding it on. Microsoft contacted me for my address and within days, I receive a check for $24,800.00. You need to respond before the beta testing is over. If anyone can afford this, Bill gates is the man.

It's all marketing expense to him. Please forward this to as many people as possible. You are bound to get at least $10,000.00. We're not going to help them out with their e-mail beta test without getting a little something for our time. My brother's girlfriend got in on this a few months ago when I went to visit him for the Baylor/UT game. She showed me her check. It was for the sum of $4,324.44 and was stamped "Paid in full"

Like I said before, I know the law, and this is for real.

Intel and AOL are now discussing a merger which would make them the largest Internet company and in an effort make sure that AOL remains the most widely used program, Intel and AOL are running an e-mail beta test.

When you forward this e-mail to friends, Intel can and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows user) for a two week time period.

Try it; what have you got to lose

NOT THIS TIME!

A middle-aged couple had two beautiful daughters but always talked about having a son. They decided to try one last time for the son they always wanted.

The wife got pregnant and delivered a healthy baby boy.

The joyful father rushed to the nursery to see his new son.

He was horrified at the ugliest child he had ever seen.

He told his wife: "There's no way I can be the father of this baby. Look at the two beautiful daughters I fathered! Have you been fooling around behind my back?"

The wife smiled sweetly and replied: "Not this time!"

MISTAKES YOU DON'T MAKE TWICE...

A man staggers into an emergency room with a concussion, multiple bruises, two black eyes and a five iron wrapped around his neck.

Naturally, the doctor asks him what happened.

“Well,” the man says, “It’s like this: I was playing a quiet round of golf with my wife when at a difficult hole, we both sliced our balls into a pasture of cows.

We went to look for them, and while I was rooting around, I noticed one of the cows had something white on its rear end. I walked over the lifted the tail, and sure enough, there was a golf ball with my wife’s monogram on it—stuck right in the middle of the cow’s butt.

That’s when I made my big mistake.

“What did you do?” the doctors asks.

“Well.” the man replies, “I lifted the cow’s tail and yelled to my wife: Hey, this looks like yours!”

“I don’t remember much after that!”

NEW CREDIT CARD SCAM

Note, the callers do not ask for your card number. THEY already have it! This information is worth reading. By understanding how the VISA & Master Card Telephone Credit Card Scam works, you'll be better prepared to protect yourself.

My husband was called on Wednesday from "VISA", and I was called on Thursday from "MasterCard". The scam works like this: Person calling says, "This is (name), and I'm calling from the Security and Fraud Department at VISA. My Badge Number is 12460 your card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern, and I'm calling to verify. This would be on your VISA card which was issued by (name of bank). Did you purchase an Anti-Telemarketing Device for $497.99 from a Marketing company based in Arizona?" When you say "No", the caller continues with, "Then we will be issuing a credit to your account. This is a company we have been watching and the charges range from $297 to $497, just under the $500 purchase pattern that flags most cards. Before your next statement, the credit will be sent to (gives you your address), is that correct?" When you say "yes", the caller continues - "I will be starting a Fraud investigation. If you have any questions, you should call the 1- 800 number listed on the back of your card (1-800-VISA) and ask for Security. You will need to refer to this Control Number." The caller then gives you a 6 digit number. "Do you need me to read it again?"

Here's the IMPORTANT part on how the scam works. The caller then says, "I need to verify you are in possession of your card". He'll ask you to "turn your card over and look for some numbers". There are 7 numbers; the first 4 are part of your card number, the next 3 are the security numbers that verify you are the possessor of the card. These are the numbers you sometimes use to make Internet purchases to prove you have the card. The caller will ask you to read the 3 numbers to him! After you tell the caller the 3 numbers, he'll say, "That is correct, I just needed to verify that the card has not been lost or stolen, and that you still have your card. Do you have any other questions?" After you say no, the caller then thanks you and states, "Don't hesitate to call back if you do", and hangs up. You actually say very little, and they never ask for or tell you the card number. But after we were called on Wednesday, we called back within 20 minutes to ask a question. Are we glad we did! The REAL VISA Security Department told us it was a scam and in the last 15 minutes a new purchase of $497.99 was charged to our card.

Long story made short, we made a real fraud report and closed the VISA account. VISA is reissuing us a new number. What the scammers want is the 3-digit PIN number on the back of the card. Don't give it to them. Instead, tell them you'll call VISA or Master card directly for verification of their conversation. The real VISA told us that they will never ask for anything on the card as they already know the information since they issued the card! If you give the scammers your 3 Digit PIN Number, you think you're receiving a credit. However, by the time you get your statement you'll see charges for purchases you didn't make, and by then it's almost too late and/or more difficult to actually file a fraud report. What makes this more remarkable is that on Thursday, I got a call from a "Jason Richardson of MasterCard" with a word-for-word repeat of the VISA scam. This time I didn't let him finish. I hung up! We filed a Police report, as instructed by VISA. The police said they are taking several of these reports daily! They also urged us to tell everybody we know that this scam is happening.

Please pass this on to all your family and friends. By informing each other, we protect each other.

BATTLE OF WATERLOO - 18 JUNE 2006

MI ULTIMO PAALAM

Perla del mar de trapiko, nuestro perdido tambutso
A darte voy a brownout, para ka na ring na-knock out
A fuera mas mainit, taong bayan nagngingitngit
Tambien por ti lad diera, para tayong nasa giyera.

El campos de basura, singhutando con delirio
Otros te dan sus microbio, sin duda, con ubo
Emergency power nada importa, Ramos de Venecia or Angara
Napocor o Meralco cerrado, generator o cruel martirio

HOW TO STAY YOUNG...

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers.
This includes age, weight, and height.

Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.

2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down.

(Keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches!)

3. Keep learning:
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.
Never let the brain get idle.

"An idle mind is the devil's workshop."

And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!

4. Enjoy the simple things

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with her!

6. The tears happen:
Endure, grieve, and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourself.
LIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love:
Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.
Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.

If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips.
Take a trip to the mall, even to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

And if you don't send this to at least four people - who cares?

But do share this with someone.

PROFILE OF GIACOMO LEOPARDI

Giacomo Leopardi

Born on Friday, June 29, 1798 at 4:00 AM in Recanati, Italy

Your personality is reserved, cautious and given to moments of incredible loneliness. Your emotions do not permit you to derive any satisfaction without paying some penalty. You are ambitious to achieve the best possible romantic relationships, but you always seem to settle for less than that. You are serious and more concerned with achieving goals and objectives than in having domestic bliss. You have some difficulty in projecting warmth and tenderness, thus you attract those who will accept a contractual relationship with you so that it seems like a business arrangement.

You are intensely emotional and want so much to express your feelings with someone very special. Your judgment is biased by material considerations and security, so that a purely emotional contact is less likely. Your desire for a home and domestic security is shared with your continuing interest in a professional life of your own. You want to be recognized as a very capable, organized individual who doesn’t have to depend on anyone, as a person who can succeed on your own merits if you want to.

Parental conditioning may have been the cause of your insecurity, and your father, in particular, may have caused you some bitterness in your youth. Because of this, it might be better for you to accomplish your professional objectives before you turn your attention to marriage. After you’ve proven yourself to eliminate any self-doubts as to your competence, you may then need to relate in a personal, warm and tender relationship that has all the earmarks of success.

Warm climates are better suited to your physical needs, and above all, try to look at life with optimism.

CONFERENCE ON LEOPARDI - BRUSSELS, 14 JUNE 2006

Giacomo Leopardi is considered one of Italy’s illustrious poets of his time. He was born in Recanati on June 29, 1798 and died in Naples on June 14, 1837. In commemoration of his death anniversary, the Marchigiani Association of Belgium organized a conference on his literary life and a reading of his selected poems in Brussels on June 14, 2006.

FELIZ CUMPLEANO MARIA!

Maria
Born on Thursday, 3 June 1976 at 10:15 AM in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain

Ascendant in Cancer. The caring instinct is particularly strong when Cancer is rising at the moment of birth. The homemaking impulse can be very powerful in Cancer-Ascendant people, and in a partnership they are supportive and ambitious for their lover. Those without a family will channel their homemaking instincts into worthy cause—often charitable or ideological. They often worry unnecessarily about their health and this can become a way of life.

Midheaven in Aries. When in Midheaven is Aries, Cancer or Leo will be in the Ascendant in northern latitudes. In southern latitudes, Gemini or Cancer will be the rising sun. Anyone with Aries as his or her Midheaven will aspire to be independent and assertive. When Gemini is rising, the individual is likely to express the Geminian ability for wheeling and dealing to achieve his or her own ends. If a subject has Cancer rising, the sensitivity of the rising sign means that his or her concern for other people will hinder success. Nevertheless, the attraction to Arien interests will be very powerful, and he or she will have the desire to be a big achiever.

Sun in Gemini. Versatile and communicative, Geminians can also be superficial and inconsistent. They tend to be witty and lively, and remain youthful in old age. Geminians rarely do one thing at a time—they will read two books at once, write letters while watching television, or hold down two jobs. Basic Personality. Geminians have a talent for communication, and journalism is an ideal occupation for them. They tend to have very quick intellects fired by curiosity and rational minds. Their strong sense of logic enables them to grasp the elements of a situation or subject quickly. Relationships. A dull partner, however attractive, will not be tolerated long by a Geminian. Shared interests are important but not necessarily shared views, because discussion and argument are the spice of life to a Gemini. Geminians make lively parents, but can be too fault-finding, forgetting that their child may not be so quick-minded as themselves. The Gemini child is intelligent, but is easily bored and should be encouraged to finish all tasks that are started. Career. Work in all branches of the media is ideal for communicative and versatile Geminians. They are often natural salespeople, and prove to be shrewd in business. However, they dislike solitary work and may be unhappy if they are promoted to lonely positions of power. Leisure. Geminians do not know what leisure is, they fill every moment with activity and are always seeking out ways to amuse themselves. They should burn of their nervous energy with sports such as squash, tennis, or jogging.

Moon in Leo. This position is often found in the birth charts of high achievers, especially if the Moon is near the Midheaven. People with their Moon in Leo can appear overbearing and dogmatic: their immediate instinct in almost any situation is to take over. They are self-centered, and this can lead to arrogance and stubbornness. On the other hand, they usually have the best of motives, and can be a source of inspiration to others. They will find every possible outlet for their potential (which will be indicated by the characteristics of the Sun sign) and will achieve their personal aspirations. They rarely do this, however, without going a little too far in the eyes of partners, friends, or colleagues. There is an unconscious need for admiration and attention from others, and if shyness or inhibition is indicated elsewhere in the horoscope, the conflict will result in a tendency to show off and appear over-confident. They cope well in emergencies, for the qualities of leadership inherent in Leo will always be present. This is a placing that needs a steadying influence from other planets in the birth chart. Children with the Moon in this sign can be excessively exuberant, and they should be encouraged to control this trait before it develops into bombasts.

Mercury in Taurus. Inflexibility will be a characteristic of those with Mercury in Taurus, particularly an inability to change the mind. Common sense will be present, as will the ability to plan constructively. The mind may be slightly slow, but steady and careful. Mercury rules Gemini, and its effect is strong and in this case beneficial, steadying the subject and enabling him or her to act with deliberation. These people assimilate facts easily, and have practical common sense along with the natural Geminian liveliness and versatility.

Venus in Gemini. These flirtatious people need partners who are intellectually as well as sexually stimulating. They are reluctant to settle down but are capable of sustained devotion. They have a flair for money-making. Love affairs can be inhibited by the tendency to over-analyze emotions. Quick wits help financial success.

Mars in Leo. The fiery enthusiasm, energy, and assertiveness of Mars is well suited to Leo, and people with this placing of the planet will have an immense love of life, and will also be eager for others to enjoy themselves. Powers of leadership will be strong, but individuals must guard against being overly assertive and pushy, especially when dealing with those less assured than themselves. There will be a keen sense of drama, which again needs to be carefully controlled if it is not to expand and become showiness, exaggeration, and bombast. These people do not suffer pompousness or self-indulgence gladly, and small-mindedness and pettiness will be deeply despised, sometimes to the point of rudeness. The quick temper of Mars is flaring and passionate, but at least Leonine magnanimity ensures that any clash is quickly forgiven and forgotten. The sex life will be enthusiastic, colorful, and rewarding, and there may well be a creative passion for art. If Mars is negatively aspected by Saturn energy may be unevenly spent, but provided that more sober elements of the horoscope help the subject to use the energy in a controlled way, this placing is wonderfully invigorating physically, and these people are likely to enjoy robust health. There may be minor trouble with the spine, especially if days are spent at an office desk, and yoga or the Alexander technique might help. Leo rules the heart, so aerobic exercise such as swimming or dancing is recommended.

Jupiter in Taurus. This placing of Jupiter can bring material success by encouraging an individual’s desire to be successful: making money will always be a prime motive. People with Jupiter in Taurus usually invest cleverly and well. They have an excellent sense of timing, and are able to predict the movements of the market. These subjects are generous, and derive great pleasure from entertaining others. This marries rather too well with one of the main attributes of this combination of planet and sign the enjoyment of good food. These people are true gourmets and love eating and drinking, and there is a distinct possibility that under any anxiety or stress, particularly emotional stress, comfort eating becomes a problem. If Jupiter is afflicted by the Sun, Moon or Neptune, there really will be trouble, for they are likely to become over-indulgent and greedy. They should bear in mind that the basic principle of Jupiter is expansion, and in this case it can literally mean putting on weight. These problems apart, people with Jupiter in Taurus make marvelous hosts, for Jupiter is at its most genial in this sign, and contributes sincerely and a excellent sense of humor. Reliable in a crisis, they have great common sense that serves them well in difficulties, and enables them to advise others equally well.

Saturn in Cancer. A considerable degree of financial shrewdness is possessed by those with Saturn in Cancer, and these subjects will have not only the ability to make money but also the intuition to invest it advantageously. They also possess a strong sense of purpose, and great tenacity when following a decided course. The need for real emotional stability is very strong, but the ease or difficulty with which this is achieved will often depend on how the individual was treated as a child. If the father was particularly strict, for instance, or there was some kind of emotional deprivation, the person may have suffered and, as a result, may find it difficult to take even small problems in his or her stride. Saturn in Cancer often indicates someone who has a great desire for a stable and secure family life but has problems achieving it. These people have a tendency towards anxiety, but find it difficult to share their problems with others. If this is not to affect their relationships, and make them inhibited with their partners, they must try their best to free their emotions. If Mars or Jupiter is placed in a fire sign, or if either is well aspected, this can do much to alleviate the problem.

Uranus in Scorpio. The influence of Uranus is at its most intricate when working from Scorpio. The planet is exalted in this sign, so its strength will be increased dramatically. When its dynamic force is added to the emotional intensity of Scorpio, it will endow these individuals with extraordinary power. They will be brave and daring but tend to disguise this fact. They do not like to show emotion or lose control, and will always remain calm on the surface even if inwardly they are boiling with anger or disgust. It is very important for these subjects to use their emotions constructively—and for them to release them gradually so that positive achievements and inner satisfaction might be gained. Uranus was in Scorpio from 1975 to 1981, and those born during this period are still quite young. The most dramatic of this generation will have either a Sun or a Moon in Scorpio, or a Scorpio-Ascendant. They will feel a powerful need to influence the course of world events and many of them do so, sometimes by the most positive and telling arguments and actions, sometimes by behavior that is quite negative and destructive. Parents who have children with Uranus in Scorpio in their chart should try to help them recognize and avoid their tendency to feel depressed about problems such as poverty and environmental pollution, because this despair can turn to negative thinking and self destructive behavior.

Neptune in Sagittarius. The powerful relationship between Neptune and Jupiter (Neptune now rules Pisces, and Pisces was originally ruled by Jupiter) is heightened by Neptune’s journey through the Jupiterian sign of Sagittarius. Neptune encourages a strong sense of social justice, and we can expect much that is idealistic, hopeful, and positive from this generation. Although these young people will have to be tough to cope with the demands of his life in the early 21st century, they have a sympathetic side to their personality, and a sense of optimism that should help them solve some of the problems of the future. They will have a strong identification with nature and with animals, and may reject potentially cruel farming methods. If Sagittarius is prominent in a subject’s birth chart, it may indicate one of the leaders of this generation.

Pluto in Libra. Sexual permissiveness and the relaxation of traditional moral values was a main theme during the period Pluto spent in Libra. The contraceptive pill brought freedom from the fear of pregnancy for many women, and consequently this was an era when the unfettered pursuit of erotic pleasure seemed a desirable and harmless end in itself. As far as the personal influence goes, Pluto spices up the somewhat placid temperament of Libra, but also increases the Libran tendency to cause problems just for the fun of solving them. This is particularly the case in emotional partnerships, where the pleasure of reconciliation is considered well worth a few hours of unproductive argument. This argumentative trait emerges when Libra is prominent or if Pluto is personalized, the possessiveness and jealous can be problematic in intimate relationships.

PLANETS THROUGH HOUSES

First House. Saturn. Saturn, from this house, can bring inhibition and shyness, and the closer Saturn is to the Ascendant, the stronger the effect will be. However, common sense and self-confidence will develop as the individual matures. Carefully study the effects of the sign in which Saturn is placed its characteristics will be influential. This placing tends to lower physical vitality, which may be exacerbated by a touch of hypochondria.

Second House. Mars. The acquisition of wealth and possessions is emphasized here. The sign that Mars occupies indicates how money will be acquired: through careful investment, skilful dealings, or a long hard slog. These people are passionate and can be possessive. If Mars occupies Taurus, Cancer, or Scorpio, the subject may possess a fiery temper and will not be quick to forget an insult. Moon. This position indicates a need for security, and the positive attitudes of the Moon (which depend on the sign of the planet it occupies) will flourish in a stable environment. Emotional happiness may be dependent on a comfortable financial situation. If money is short, these individuals are thrown into a state of anxiety, imagining poverty and hardships. A practical influence elsewhere in the horoscope will counter this tendency to worry about money.

Fourth House. Pluto. This is not an easy placing for Pluto, and may indicate a difficult childhood. The parents may have been distant and unloving, or repressive disciplinarians. In an attempt to compensate for their unhappy childhood, these people will be eager to create a close and secure domestic scene, but must beware of becoming too possessive of their loved ones.

Fifth House. Uranus. This placing often indicates a string of whirlwind affairs with unsuitable partners. The subjects tend to display a somewhat reckless attitude towards affairs of the heart, plunging into new relationships without pausing to consider the consequences. Creative potential is greatly encouraged by this placing, and these people often make talented artists, actors, and musicians.

Sixth House. Neptune. These people are often serious hypochondriacs, with an over-imaginative approach to their numerous ailments. It is true, however, that they are often allergic to certain foods. Alternative therapies may be the best solution. These individuals find it difficult to take a disciplined attitude to their work. They dislike strict routine and are often rather unreliable and erratic workers.

Eleventh House. Jupiter. These individuals are sociable and warm-hearted. They care deeply for their friends, and will want to do their bit to help humanity at large. The subjects generate a great deal of energy and enthusiasm, and make excellent campaigners and fund-raisers. They work particularly well as part of a team, and do not enjoy solitary endeavor. Mercury. Social intercourse will be of the greatest importance—these people simply must communicate, and will possess a very large circle of friends and acquaintances. Every spare moment is likely to be occupied by getting out and about. The subjects may find fulfillment in charity work, where their communicative skills will be useful. The Sun and Mercury live closely together, and Mercury in the eleventh house and the Sun in the twelfth may sometimes suggest a spell of peace and quiet, and the subject must remember to take this hint.

Twelfth House. Sun. Peace and quiet one’s own space, and the time to be alone are all prime concerns for someone with the Sun in the twelfth house. If the Sun sign shares these characteristics, the individual may suffer from a lack of self-confidence. They will be at their happiest working behind the scenes, in a quiet pursuit of excellence but without demanding great acclaim. Venus. When in love, these hopeless romantics tend to be extremely secretive. They will strive to conceal their deepest emotions from their friends, and may even find it difficult to articulate their feelings to their potential lovers. These individuals can suffer from a strong sense of isolation, which may result in comfort eating and drinking. Alternatively, solace may be sought in religion.

RISHWAN - A TOP MODEL FROM MALDIVES

Rishwan

Born on Saturday, 4 October 1980 at 8:00 AM in Maldives

Ascendant in Scorpio. Scorpio Sun-sign characteristics are more powerfully expressed when it is the rising sign. The tendency for these people to be secretive can become obsessive. Sometimes preoccupied with their faults, those who have Scorpio rising should give themselves credit for their virtues. Emotional security is important to them.

Midheaven in Leo. When Leo is on the Midheaven in the northern hemisphere, Libra, Scorpio or Sagittarius will be in the Ascendant. In the southern hemisphere, Scorpio, Sagittarius or Capricorn will be rising. Leo Midheaven bestows a need to achieve and display the signs of success. When Scorpio rises, the determination and powerful energy of that sign, combined with Leo aspiration, offers these individuals everything that is necessary to make them extremely high achievers. However, care is needed if this powerful potential is to be fulfilled.

Sun in Libra. Diplomatic, romantic, and idealistic, Librans need balance for a harmonious life. In order to attain this state of equilibrium, they will sometimes give way in situations where they should stand firm, or sit on the fence until someone else has resolved the problem, or it has simply resolved itself. Basic Personality. Procrastination comes naturally to Librans, because they have the ability to see every point of view, and dislike taking sides in an argument. Although they have considerable physical energy, they are sometimes accused of laziness. This is often because they are choosing to relax, and making time to listen to the problems of their friends and family. Relationships. Librans are great romantics, and they are vulnerable when in a partnership. The usual Libran indecision is swept aside, and when marrying in haste they may repent at leisure. Libran parents are very loving and caring, but sometimes spoil their children for the sake of peace and quiet. Libran children are easy to please, and tend to rely on a parent to make decisions. Career. Librans enjoy the high life, and need to earn good money. They thrive in positions that need diplomacy and tact, fashion, and the beauty and cosmetic industries suit them well. Leisure. Librans do not enjoy physical exertion, but they need to exercise to avoid becoming overweight. They should also control their love of rich food.

Rishwan has strong feelings that he constantly expresses. He loves life and enjoys close relationships with people. He doesn’t wait for others to make gestures of friendship, but eagerly seek to make them feel at ease in his company. He wants so much to be liked and loved that he dramatizes his feelings towards others so they will respond to him in a similar fashion. In fact, he functions best when he knows others care for him. He can easily detach himself from people who are indifferent or uncaring. Only individuals with depth and substance gain his attention. He is conservative toward people until they demonstrate their worth to him. Once this is done, he will project his feelings with determination, in anticipation of establishing a permanent relationship. He is proud, sometimes even vain, in seeking the spotlight. Love is very important to him. It rounds out his life with meaning and satisfaction. He tends to exercise a dominant force over those he cares for, and he is shattered when they reject him in defiance. He appreciates fine things. Beautiful people, a comfortable home, good food and warm friends delight his tastes. Even good books, art and the theater give him much enjoyment. However, he may indulge beyond his resources and severely strain his finances. He lives for today and try not to look too carefully at tomorrow. He tries to avoid the unpleasant—it is so inconsistent with the brighter side of life he expects. He should avoid being too self-centered and acting like “star.” Many people are turned off by it.
