Donald Trump on Joe Biden

DONALD TRUMP CALLED PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN “A DUMB SON-OF-A-B**CH”

Yep. In a weekend rally in Erie, PA, the twice-impeached and now thrice-indicted Trump told his audience that Joe Biden “wasn’t at the top of his game … was never at the top of his game … and was a dumb sonofabitch.” Classy, huh? Still, just what we’ve come to expect, unfortunately. But let’s look into this claim objectively, keeping in mind that the profane attack indicates that Trump obviously considers himself superior in that department.

We already know from the first 2020 presidential debate that Joe Biden is at the very least tougher and more competent than Donald Trump. After all, he called him a clown, told him to shut up, and a few weeks later took his job, right? This doesn’t prove that Biden is smarter, though. What else can we look at? Morality? Always a sticky subject. Joe Biden has been accused of sniffing hair, being too “touchy-feely”, and once of sexual improprieties. Donald Trump has been accused of sexual improprieties by over a dozen women, has admitted to having inappropriate fantasies about his own daughter, and has been found guilty in a civil suit of sexual assault and ordered to pay his victim $5 million for that and for defamation. Maybe we’ll just leave it at that, OK? Let’s look for other evidence that Biden is a dumb SOB compared to Trump.

.

Education? Trump has a bachelor’s degree from Wharton and Biden a J.D. from Syracuse. Biden was not a particularly good student. Trump claims to have graduated top of his class from Wharton, but there is no corroborating evidence that he even made the Dean’s list. And it is common knowledge that he has threatened legal action against any school that releases his records. So, let’s move on.

Success in their chosen fields? Donald Trump worked for his father in the real estate and development field after college, eventually taking the reins and taking the company in many different directions. Backed by his father’s outright “loans” and loan guarantees to other lenders, he found early success and a reputation for negotiation. He became wealthy, although never was worth the 10 billion he had claimed. Many of his marquee projects - hotels and casinos - went bankrupt, and in the past couple of decades most of his money has come from his TV program The Apprentice and as a minority partner in other ventures. As a politician, Trump is batting .500 in elections. Joe Biden worked briefly as a lawyer, including starting his own firm. But then he became interested in politics, won his first election as a city councilman in 1971 and a seat as the US Senator from Delaware a year later and has never looked back. As councilman, Senator, Vice-President and President, he has never lost an election. He is 10 - 0. He is not a businessman but has made a few good investments. He and his wife are worth an estimated 9 to 10 million.

Is Joe Biden a guy Donald Trump should be calling a dumb SOB?

Well, Trump also says that Biden is corrupt, often calling him “Crooked Joe”. Biden has been in the central arena of American politics since 1973. If he’s corrupt, he’s pretty good at it. 50 years and never been caught? Never forced to pony up $25 million to reimburse students at a fake university? Never caught running a fake charity and having to close it and pay $2 million in restitution? Never been hauled into a state Attorney General’s office to answer questions about shady business practices and forced to plead the 5th over 400 times? Seems kinda savvy to me, Donald.

It comes down to this. Joe Biden is neither a genius nor a saint. But he is not the one who owes creditors hundreds of millions of dollars. He is not the one being arrested for the third time this year on criminal charges. He is not the one who has already run up over $50 million in legal fees with no end in sight. And he is not the one who is reduced to begging for money from his lower-income supporters. As was often said by Forrest Gump, “Stupid is as stupid does”. And let me add, “People who live in glass houses ….”
