What's it like to live in Iran?

Parinaz

Hello! As an Iranian woman I decided to write my answer. I don’t know how foreign people say their opinion about Iran confidently mabye without traveling to Iran even once! Hijab is not like what you think it is in Iran. Some people may prefer to wear “Chador” which is a long-black scarf. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

But it’s just their own preference to wear “chador”. A lot of people just wear “mantoo” (which is like a long dress) and put something on their head as the scarf which isn’t that limiting you think at all. Here are some pictures:

This is just about public places; you can wear however you want at parties, home, social networks, etc.

Although there are some problems in Iran, you cannot deny the fact that every country has its own problems. As the bad aspects of Iran are usually shown through the social media (sometimes even worse than how they are in fact), I’m gonna discuss some good aspects. Iran has a rich history, culture and literature.

It has a really perfect geographical position and it is among one of the high-rankings in terms of fossil fuels resources. A lot of people think Iran is a full desert; but the truth is that Iran contains really really various climates; from its north to its south.

And these are some pictures of Tehran, the capital of Iran:

We are just living our lives in Iran; I’m not sure why people think it’s such a dangerous, bad country without traveling to it even once. Mabye it’s because of how social medias want you to think. After all as an Iranian woman I am studying one of the best fields in one of the best universities of Iran and since I was a child I didn’t think about any excellence of men toward women; I have seen all of us as humans in terms of skills and talents.

Hope the wrong rumors about Iran end one day.

PS.: I disabled the comments because I didn’t want this post as a tool to make people fight with each other; as I think all of us are humans without caring about our countries. And some people were somehow making me feel sad just because of posting about my country and its beautiful places. I think politics are dirty almost in all parts of the world and the governments usually just use us, the ordinary people, to achieve their own goals. But this post is just about usual life of people in Iran and it doesn’t have anything to do with politics. Thank you for reading.
