5 Types Of Negative Friends You Should Avoid

“Cutting people out of your life doesn’t mean you hate them, it simply means you respect yourself. Not everyone is meant to stay.”

Friendship, seemed a lot more comprehensible when you were seven as compared to now. As you approach young adulthood, you realize that making friends or rather, maintaining friendship is not as easy as it was back in adolescence.

Your circle of friends becomes smaller and the number of friends you actually trust can be counted with one hand. You start losing touch with your old friends and you feel rather small among your new friends. It is a rather unfortunate situation really.

Now some are able to accept the reality of the situation. However, there are also a fraction that tried harder. Now, it is a noble thing to try harder because it shows how much you value the friendship.

But, you need to realize that some friends are just not worth the effort. In fact, it is negative for your well being. There are certain type of “red-alert” friends you must be wary of. 5 Types of negative friends you should avoid :

1. Jealous Jenny

We all have one friend that is secretly jealous of you. Jealous of your accomplishments and achievements, jealous of the way you look or dress, jealous of the things you own or the people you know.

In front of you, they may act like they are really happy for you but in their head, they are probably wishing you did not get that promotion at work.

Whatever it may be, jealousy is never good for any kind of relationship. You do not need that sort of negativity in your life.

“PROTECT YOUR SPIRIT FROM CONTAMINATION. LIMIT YOUR TIME WITH NEGATIVE PEOPLE.”

2. User Uma

Pure friendship is when you are willing to give and receive unconditionally with no questions asked. However, some may use it to their advantage. These are the users.

They will make you do things for them for the sake of friendship guilt trip you in the name of friendship if you cannot offer what they want.

Worse part is they would probably never do the same for you. Know your worth because no true friend will use you.

3. Negative Nelly

This one has nothing nice to say about anyone but themselves. They are always nitpicking and finding flaws in everything. They will constantly point out the negative in your likes and ideas.

They would never support anything you truly love. This kind of people are reservoirs of negative aura. It would do you a great deal if you stay away from them.

“CUTTING PEOPLE OUT OF YOUR LIFE DOESN’T MEAN YOU HATE THEM, IT SIMPLY MEANS YOU RESPECT YOURSELF. NOT EVERYONE IS MEANT TO STAY.”

4. Disappearing Drake

Unfortunately, we all know a friend that never shows up. He or she would have promised to be there for the big reunion but will bail last minute for the silliest reasons.

These are the kind of friends that would cancel on you last minute but would make time for someone else. It is a pretty obvious indication of where you stand in their life.

5. Selfish Sam

These are the kind of people where the friendship revolves around them and them only. Your needs and wants are not taken into consideration.

They never listen to what you have to say. And in any event an opportunity rises, they will probably grab it for themselves and not utter a word to you.

Come on, you deserve a better support system than someone like this.

No matter how hard you try, some people are just not meant to remain in your life while some others are just not worth your time.

Learn to let go if it is going to be good for your well-being. If you are truly someone special to your friend, you wouldn’t have to go through all that was mentioned.

Appreciate the tiny circle or that best friend that has stuck by you through thick and thin because good friends are hard to find. Besides, quality is greater than quantity.

You should send your best friend(s) a quick message of appreciation right now!
