What are the symptoms of a massive heart attack?

Your chest aches as if an elephant were sitting on it.

Squeezing pain in the chest - no twinge, but bearable pressure that makes you think you're dying. And you might be. It radiates to your arms (left particularly), jaw, neck, or back.

Can't breathe - like drowning on dry land. Your heart is not pumping blood efficiently, so your lungs are overworking.

Sweating like crazy even when you're not hot. Cold, wet sweat that soaks your clothes for no reason.

Nausea and vomiting - your body is completely in panic mode and everything just fails.

Dizzy or about to pass out because your brain isn't being given enough blood.

Cotton mouth and overwhelming sense of doom - not worry, but your body realizing that something is terribadly wrong.

Women have different symptoms sometimes - backache, nausea, fatigue instead of plain chest pain. That kills them because they wait longer.

Don't tough it out. Call 911 immediately. Chew an aspirin if you have one available. Every minute matters - "time is muscle" is what they say. The longer you lose, the more heart muscle is destroyed.

Take yourself to the hospital? No way. You could pass out behind the wheel.
