What did you learn from the book or movie Kite Runner?

Promise : Amir is always protected by Hassan , son of his house servant.

These small boys live in Afghanistan and spend their days in kite flying and small plays.

Hassan suffers humiliation (physical and sexual assault) ;but safe guards dignity of his best friend.

Well, Hassan , a small boy , has promised Amir to act as his real brother and the best friend.

Unlike Hasan ; Amir does not reveal about hurt caused by an unruly gang of wayward boys to anyone.

Amir childishly accuses Hasan of a theft . Soon Hassan and his father leaves house in disgust.

Meanwhile, Amir and his father move to America.

Promise : Years later, Amir gets a phone call from his beloved uncle that he wants to meet him soon.

Amir travels to Pakistan ; where his uncle tells him that Hasan happens to be his half brother.

He is illegitimate son of his father and wife of their house servant.

Well, Hasan and his wife were killed by Taliban while protecting Amir’s ancestral home.

Before his death ; Hasan had written a letter to Amir requesting him to take care of his small son.

Promise : Amir risks his life and travels to Afghanistan ; where he searches for Sohrab, son of Hasan.

Well, Sohrab has been turned into a dancing boy by a gang.

To his dismay; Amir finds that leader of that gang is that same boy who once brutalized Hasan.

Amir pleads with him to let Sohrab go ; but antagonist beats him hard.

Suddenly, Sohrab arrives and hits that leader with a sling shot.

Amir realizes that like his father Sohrab is a man of his word.

Amir and his wife Sorayya raises Sohrab as their own son.

Facts : The Kite Runner is one of the best books about life.

One can also watch its movie adaptation and enjoy its intellectual depth.
