What makes Thailand the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia?

Which countries in Southeast Asia you just have to name it—not at one time or another were dragged into hardships by tyrants as a result of decades of wars, occupation by other powers, or worse off, genocide?

Thailand is proof that a country doesn’t have to be perfectly democratic to be peaceful, or perfectly stable to be successful. We have internal political madness with a new clown as the Prime Minister each year. (some year we have 2 clowns taking turns)

The people’s resilience, humor (sanuk), look at our ‘commercial ads’ you know what I mean.

Thais are adaptable, we have taxi drivers who respond to Thai-speaking foreigners ‘แก๊สหมด‘ (out of gas) so don’t go— while giving tourists a military salute followed by cheeky smiles thus creating a welcoming, friendly image, before saying ‘ the meter broken down’ the fare will be 500 Baht.

Thai society has a deep culture of pragmatism, adaptability, and avoidance of total confrontation. We come behind the back with a back up of 20 to 1 to beat 220 pounds badly behaved expats or drunk tourists. Only to receive a ‘Get well soon’ card with a bouquet from the tourism board.

Thailand welcomed Japanese, Chinese, and Western investments but Thai police continued raiding foreign companies and Thai crooks will continue to kidnap them.

why?

We have mastered the art of balancing chaos and continuity, and that may be its most cunning — or wise.

That was why we are capable and able to survive from decades of wars, occupation by other powers or worse off, a genocide.

Not just— fun, it’s Sanuk’ or sun, sand, and sea or Thai food, massage, Buddhism, and hospitality are globally beloved.

So now you know, what makes Thailand the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia?
