Of course, lifestyle and genetics plays a major role in how long a person can live. Regarding how long a person can live depends on two distinctly different factors and both must exist to live an exceptionally long life. These are: 1. your physical health and 2. your mental health. If you are in good physical health, and are mobile, and free of chronic age-related aliments, you could live to 100 or more with a few having lived to 110. Note: here are over 100,000 centurions living now in the US.
Regarding your mental health. I believe that many people who are in their 90’s and are for the most part in good physical health and could live longer, will decide that they are ready to pass on. This occurs when your quality of life does not bring you daily joy and you stop dreaming about tomorrow. For many, I suspect it goes something like this: “I have lived all of my dreams and experienced all of my desires” “I have been there and done that” “All of my friends have passed, and I have no one to share with”
So, to sum up, living to be 150 or 200 years old physically might be possible in the future due to genetic engineering, disease elimination, transhumanism or other, but the real question is will the mind continue to have a zest for life to live for 150 to 200 years? The answer is ‘yes’ if one is blessed to experience joy from their insatiable curiosity about what the future will bring and they also desire to experience it and be part of it. If this is case, then they will strive to live and be part of the human race as long as they can.
