How reliable do you think Donald Trump's statement that Iran's nuclear facilities have been "completely and totally obliterated" is?

The centrifuges used in Fordow and other underground nuclear facilities are enormous. And they are very heavy. Iran claimed to have “moved their equipment” prior to the bombardments — this is a lie; these facilities have been pounded by the Israeli’s for a week. They couldn’t have moved them, due to their sheer size, and if they did they’d have gotten blown up the minute they moved them.

So a ton of precious and priceless material was stored in those facilities, and it wasn’t going anywhere. Iran may have gotten some scientists out of there, after the top guys were successfully offed in the first strike. Russia already pulled out its own scientists after decades of collaboration with the Iranians in developing their nuclear program.[1]

But yeah, getting out the brainpower (or part of what’s left of that brainpower) is one thing. The hardware is another story altogether. Some of these facilities are incredibly deep… one bomb won’t cut it. But what if you drop a second bomb directly into the crater of the first? America did this several times. Drop an enormous bomb on the facility. Then another precisely in the middle of the crater of the last. And then another, to finish the job.

It is highly unlikely the Iranian nuclear facilities survived these blasts. Of course we have to wait for the dust to settle and damage assessment to be done, which will not be easy. Iran will not be eager to share the truth, if they are fully destroyed. Best case scenario, they’re completely gone. Worst case scenario they aren’t, but still are set back decades. This is one of those rare cases where Trump isn’t full of shit.
