-Because the Philippines is more popular than other Asian countries so Philippines gets the more spotlight.
-Because a lot of the foreigners are not well versed with geography so they don’t know anything about other Asian countries which have a much worse poverty rate than PH.
-Because they only see the negative side of the Philippines, or they only see the poor or bad side of the PH as always shown in the media like the T.V. News, Internet, YouTube, & so they think that’s totally the case but yea, Can you handle the Philippines?
-Bec. the Philippines is evidently disorganized, dirty &, chaotic/ messy. From tangled, hanging wires & extreme pollution, to shanties or slums in some city centers, or beggars roaming around, and homeless people in some streets, but of course, it’s not the same all throughout the country. **If only Filipinos know how to throw garbage properly..
-Because a lot haven’t traveled to the Philippines to see the other side of the spectrum, perhaps they have only traveled in one or two places out of the 7,641 islands of the country, therefore judging the country based solely on what they see and judging the country as a whole.
-Because a lot are ignorant to be honest. Judge mental & close minded. That’s why people consider Philippines as the poorest or a miserable country even though PH has the 3rd Strongest economy in Southeast Asia and the 37th strongest economy out of the 195 countries in the world. Pretty much not a bad spot to be in, ey?
There’s no denying that the Philippines has quiet a number of poor, as well as middle-class, & very rich Filipinos, but the PH as a country is not poor. Economically speaking, for now Philippines is a middle-class country, but very rich in natural resources, human resources, rich in culture, history & tradition. Also, the Filipino poor mindset / psyche should go / change since everything starts in the mind.
The Philippines is a classic example of a mismanaged country. With bright & talented people & very rich, abundant natural resources, it’s got all the potential to be a 1st world country. It’s just that the PH govt is sometimes incompetent, brainless & heartless, no initiative and a lot of our funds for infrastructure development, & poverty alleviation programs end up in the pockets of politicians to enrich themselves instead of their people and the country, not to mention the great brain drain & the constant, natural calamities that hit PH yearly, so we have to start or build infrastructure all over again and again every time. Sigh.
The PH for now is just the same status as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, etc.. Anyway, you can never be ignorant unless you allow your ignorance to dwell in you. Get to know us better. “Welcome to the Poorest Country in Asia.”
Very inartistic pinoys.. Zero creativity. tsk. tsk.
Meet the Philippine Presidents, don’t they look so shabby?
Wanna know w/c first Asian descent ever set foot in the Americas or the U.S.? You guessed it right, baby, the Filipinos, or the Filipino sailors back in 1587 in California. Since then some of my people have lived there long before the green card was created, long before the U.S. even became officially a country, & recently, our current Pres. Marcos Jr. just rang the bell in the ever famous New York Stock Exchange in 2022 to woo more investors to invest in the PH as a potential investment hub.
Back when Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and China were still all 3rd world countries…Philippines was already doing academically & economically well way, WAY ahead of them. just second to Japan. So yea, that’s how “uneducated” we Filipinos are.

Our ancestors striking an unsophisticated, peasant-like pose.. how cute and lovely!
Thanks Spain, U.S. & Japan for all your great contributions in our country, and thank you as well for destroying our cities & killing many of our forefathers before just because you guys want to take over our land. Past is past, everyone makes mistakes, we have moved on & have long forgiven you though, but we’ll never forget. The British & the Dutch also made attempts to conquer PH but have failed. All of which are very good friends w/ PH now, but what can we say, that’s how insignificant our 3rd world country is.. that a lot of countries would fight & kill each other just to own our country PH, or even just have a piece of it. hmm.

When visiting poor PH, It doesn’t make sense staying in cheap hostels & cramped Airbnb rooms when you can stay in a luxurious hotel & be pampered like a king.
When you eat your meal here, be extravagant. We’re pretty sure you can afford the cheapness of the PH. You said Filipino food is bad? How come? Maybe you have too much money that you can’t even figure it out??
Poverty in the Philippines is more of an individual, financial capability, rather than the country’s overall, financial capacity. Yes, Philippines is not economically rich, but it’s not dirt poor either like what everybody thinks.

“That 3rd world view.. how depressing..” but not as depressing & infuriating whenever news of an abusive employer mistreats, exploits, or kills Filipino maid/s. Some cruel employers are from Hong Kong, Singapore, most Arab/Gulf countries esp. Kuwait. I hope the PH govt bans sending them there & just let them return to their beautiful home country. Very poor Chinese immigrants to the PH end up billionaires, if foreigners can make it here, why can’t we in our very own country? It’s our money that make them rich, not the other way around. Why not support more our own local products & services?

SO DOES PHILIPPINES LOOK THE POOREST TO YOU?!!! I’M SO F*G SICK AND TIRED OF IGNORANT PEOPLE LOOKING DOWN ON US, LABELLING US AS IF WE JUST EXISTED TODAY, LIKE THEY KNOW US BETTER MORE THAN WE DO KNOW OURSELVES.
SO I HOPE PEOPLE STOP BEING SO IGNORANT & JUDGE MENTAL. We know our country is not perfect, neither is everybody else’s, but we do know we’re not the worst, far, far from it. Just so you know, so you can decrease your ignorance.

Trust me, that’s just even a “snippet” of this “7,641 beautiful Philippine islands.” TOO MANY TO MENTION. Still, SO MANY undiscovered, beautiful spots here. So how does your rich country compare to our very poor country?????? huh?
Now, that’s the REAL PHILIPPINES. Poverty is part of the PH, but it’s not the real PH as many others say. The REAL PHILIPPINES IS ABOUT abundant and very beautiful nature, diversity, & great people & culture. Sorry, the world’s standards are too high that we can’t seem to fit in. We’re always being judged. Anyway, everything else we have except for real snow, international F1 race track, & competent, patriotic, incorruptible politicians. We badly need excellent leaders and managers, visionaries to run the country well & who’ll genuinely care for the country & its people. We also hope my fellow Filipinos to be united, and to love & be loyal to the country more than to the politicians. Yes, We & our country are not perfect… but if you can’t take us at our worst, you don’t deserve us at our best. Anyway, Welcome to the Philippines! Kumusta ka? :)
so Just skip the “poorest Asian country” from your itinerary since as you can see we have nothing to offer. Our country still has a long way to go to be much better to be honest, but thanks for reading though. Have a wonderful day! *3 stars & sun reprezent..
