1. They buy luxuries last.
There’s a saying, “rich people buy luxuries last.” Interestingly, some luxury brands admitted that their target customers aren’t the rich, but those who want to look rich. Of course, the wealthy do buy luxuries, but typically using their disposable income rather than their earnings.
2. They choose to embrace a minimalist fashion sense.
Steve Jobs' black turtleneck, Mark Zuckerberg's grey T-shirt and black hoodie, and even Albert Einstein's grey suit variations are recognizable due to decision fatigue - the concept of conserving brain power for important choices by simplifying mundane decisions such as what to wear.
3. They know where their best thinking happen.
Highly successful people find ways to boost creativity and productivity, like Sara Blakely's "fake commute" or Benjamin Franklin's habit of reading and writing naked with open windows, by identifying where their best thinking happens. These may sounds unusual, but are their own unique ways.
4. They quit a lot.
Actually, high successful people are quitters by keeping a keen eye on what’s not working. Once they identify the thing sucking energy, money and resources from their business, they cut it out, and fast.
5. They cherish their “harsh” friends.
People can choose to be rich by choosing who they associate with. That’s why successful people cherish their "harsh" friends, those who don’t feel the need to sugarcoat their opinions. Likewise, they tend to choose life partners they meet on selective platforms. The more picky they are, the more they are led to a higher standard.
