What is the cheapest and safest city to live in Southeast Asia?

It’s impossible to have the best of both worlds, the cheapest and safest city, not in SE Asia, buddy.

The world is in turmoil and the cost of living skyrocketing hit the mid-heaven. Literally, a domino effect goes from Monaco’s Billionaire mansion to Metro Manila’s Tondo slum. No one is spared from the ever-rising cost of living.

OVERVIEW OF THE CHEAPEST PLACES

I think Thailand has about a few dozen cities that are cheap to live in, to name a few, like the happiest 3 northern cities Mae Hong Son, and Chiang Rai-Lampoon are considered the cheapest to live as nowhere to spend money.

Bangkok is considered the cheapest in transport, daily meals, clothing, and all sustenance as you will be spoiled for choice.

But you spend faster than you earn in a City like Bangkok as you are spoiled for choice of irresistible sweet smiling even from 7-Eleven stores

Almost 20–30 cities in Vietnam, even HCMCan Tho, or Da Nang are affordable…But to find jobs that pay the rent for foreigners is another matter as Vietnamese are the most hardworking people in SE Asia, also the most resilient people on earth (the Americans can tell you that)

More than 100 cities all over Indonesia and several islands, or East Java are cheaper to live, places like Yogyakarta or Purwokerto in Central Java—Forget BaliMedan, and Batam near Singapore- how to be cheap! . You will be surprised- living in Jakarta is cheap but again, too many shopping malls to empty your bank faster.

Papua (New Guinea/ Irian Jaya) is among the cheapest but far from the safest with these men around.

Surabaya isn’t cheap, as it’s no longer the home of King Kong, so the costs shoot up as many investors come back, you may give this city a miss.

In the Philippines, to skip Manila-too many distractions to spend money, Tondo in Metro Manila will be ideal to live in as it’s cheap, also, Quezon City. You may try a cowboy town, where ‘Dirty Harry’ grew up, Davao City in Mindanao if you wish to live an exciting life.

A dozen cities in East and West Malaysia, like Batu Pahat in Johor and Malacca, are not to be overlooked as the property in Klebang bought 20 years ago is the same price today— isn’t it wonderful when a stop-clock works pretty well in Malacca?

To skip JB as cooking oil, baby formula milk, baby diapers, groceries, and dairy products are very expensive, and walloped by the army of the Northern neighboring country who arrived in busloads.

I skipped Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar which I haven’t explored yet.

When it comes to “ Safety” it may be an illusion to many cities as it can only be achieved with a high cost that comes with good policing and high-tech surveillance, among many gadgets and sophisticated equipment.

In SE Asia, I have no idea about Brunei but I’m still a babe about this country.

We are no longer living in the wilderness, where the type of “Mosaic Law” was effective then but isn’t that effective now. It’s true that the Almighty God has forsaken us to manage our own safety.

To me, Singapore has perfected the Mosaic Law, both the rule of law and better enforcement, thus coming off a superior “model city” is the safest city to live in SE Asia, if not, the world.

Whether the world is in turmoil or not, it’s immaterial to Singapore. But far from the cheapest but the most expensive to live in Southeast Asia…How safe is the safest—Please read on:-

You will be 100% safe in Marina Bay, the most sought-after by the cream of the crop (the billionaires of billionaires) to live and play. Hope you are aware that MBS (‘Sands’) Casino here is making more money than the one in Las Vegas.

You will also be safe in public places, like hospitals, offices, and Shopping Malls.

You will be safe on the road.

You will be safe on the sidewalks anywhere on the island

You will be safe on the bridges.

You will be safe in your own home, or anywhere knowing that Marksmen are on every corner. Either in a pair or in a dozen

If you dial 999,—Don’t forget to ask for inspector Priscilla Lim. She’ll be there.

Have you decided ‘ where to live’ after reading my answer to your question? No?
