I visit Philippines regularly and it is heartbreaking to see how divided and unfair the country is. The government does not serve the people. Those who have look down on those who don't have as if they are not human. Have had many Filipinos engineers working in the Middle East these are very hard working and very capable people. The country must break free of all foreign influences and cater for the people. This country is nothing but an American airbase and gets nothing in return. No jobs created by the US, no help with infrastructures, what there is of the US are 60 years old smokies and wreckage jeeneys that serve as the main mode of transport. Dilapidated tricycles, death trap cars.
It is so heartbreaking to see deserving people get zero help from government. 75% of the population live in shacks in very very poor standards not fit for modern living conditions. Drainage are in disrepair, water supply mainly untreated and absolutely filthy. Electricity in house are death traps no regulations no visits from government or local official to check on safety. Food hygiene is none existence and its a surprise there isn't regular outbreaks. Shops are very badly lit even the flags shopping Malls, SM are badly lit and dim, air conditioning are filthy no comforts for shoppers just a case of collecting money from impoverished people.
This country has so much potentials the people alone are the main assets they need a government who will work for them invest in them and not steal every possible peso out of them. All in all every area outside of the immediate business district of Manila need to be flatten and rebuild to modern standards to what the average Filipino deserves.
However as long as the country is used as an airbase and influenced by foreigners it will never ever happen. The 10% at the very top have enough to feed the 75% the 15% who lead are corrupt to core need to face the same justice European royals did in the 18th century. Clear the country of the bloodsucking parasites.
