Frank William Abagnale (Born in 1948)
He brought his criminal cases between the ages of 16 and 21.
In the time period:
He faked his driver's license to make himself look ten years older, and then opened several bank accounts under different identities. To avoid suspicion when cashing a fake check, he decided to become a pilot. He faked a pilot's license and an employee ID.
He also forged $2.5 million in bank checks in the 26 countries he visited as a pilot.
Shortly after he quit his job as a pilot, he moved to Georgia and became a pediatrician. However, he quit after nearly killing a baby.
He then changed professions to work as a lawyer who claimed to have graduated from Harvard.
When he was arrested in 1969, twelve countries sought his extradition .
While he was in prison he acted as an undercover inspector and this earned him special treatment. He escaped from prison but was recaptured.
He was released on parole, with the condition that he work for the FBI. Frank still works for the FBI today.
Each of the three professions he imitated required years of practice before he could practice them.
He can work as:
- A doctor without going to medical school.
- A lawyer without having to go to law school.
- A Pilot without training .
I don't know how he managed to do this. But it seems like something only a very intelligent criminal could do.
So, the most intelligent criminal in history is still alive today and he is Frank William Abagnale jr.
His life story inspired the film, Catch Me if You Can.
