The case ultimately ended with Reeves being fully cleared of all allegations

Back in 2007, actor Keanu Reeves found himself involved in a legal dispute after a paparazzo named Alison Silva filed a lawsuit against him. Silva accused Reeves of deliberately hitting him with his Porsche during an incident that allegedly occurred in March of that year while Silva was attempting to photograph the actor.

According to Silva, the incident left him with an injury to his wrist, which he claimed made it difficult for him to continue working as a photographer. He also stated that the injury caused him to lose a substantial amount of income. Based on these claims, Silva demanded $711,974 in damages, covering medical expenses, lost earnings, and additional punitive compensation.

However, as the case progressed, several inconsistencies appeared in Silva’s testimony. Shortly after the incident, he reportedly complained about pain in his wrist and one knee, but later medical records and statements referenced a different knee. During the trial, Silva also admitted that he could not clearly remember certain details of the event or some of the statements he had previously made.

Keanu Reeves firmly denied all accusations. He testified that he never struck Silva with his vehicle. Reeves explained that the paparazzo had been walking backward while trying to take photos of him driving away and simply tripped and fell on his own.

After reviewing the evidence and hearing both sides, the jury reached a verdict in less than three hours. They ruled entirely in favor of Keanu Reeves, determining that he was not responsible for the incident. As a result, Reeves was not required to pay any compensation.

The case ultimately ended with Reeves being fully cleared of all allegations.
