fluffy-slippered civilian 3y
That’s pretty much how I see my situation, as I have moved to the northern part of Sweden, and intend to stay here for good.
I have chosen this location because I like my climate on the colder side of things, with winter snow, and four seasons. That, together with a certain dryness in the air, and a lot of sunshine, defines my ideal climate.
There are some other places that also have that sort of dry, sunny, cold, seasonal climate:
- western Canada on the inside of the Rocky Mountains (Edmonton, Calgary, Kelowna, Penticton)
- parts of the US, such as Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, and New Mexico (yes, Arizona can be cold - at higher altitudes)
- southern Argentina, e.g. San Carlos de Bariloche
- the Andean Highlands of Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru
- the east coast of southern New Zealand (Dunedin, Christchurch)
- northern China, e.g. Beijing and Harbin
- Tibet
- Bhutan
- parts of northern India
They tend to have pretty similar lighting, vegetation, and temperatures. A bit like this - these are from around my place, but you’ll probably find that most of the countries I’ve named above can look like that, too:
