Morning, if you want it to really do some good deed.
Ginger works best when your digestive system needs to receive a kick. Morning is when your stomach has been left vacant the entire night and must be roused. It is anti-nausea, stimulates your digestion, and can soothe an upset stomach prior to food.
If you have motion sickness or morning sickness, ginger in the morning is your best bet.
At night? It could keep you awake. Ginger is a stimulating herb for some people - not caffeine-stimulating, but enough to interfere with sleep if you are sensitive.
And also, if you're having ginger for digestion, you want it working when you're actually eating, not when you're about to go 8 hours without food.
There isn't magic timing that makes ginger a superfood, though. The whole "when you take it matters" thing is overthinking.
Take it when you need it - indigestion, nausea, or because you like the taste. Your body doesn't care what time the clock says.
But if you have to choose? Convenience goes to morning.
