Vegetable oils and sugar - major cause of people having a heart attack, cancer, obesity, diabetes, arthritis and dementia.

Lifestyle - Diet, lack of movement, don’t smoke or drink alcohol. Get enough sleep.

Cut back on eating processed food.

No margarine.

No fried food.

No potato chips, donuts or muffins. Many other processed foods too.

No coffee creamer.

Children now are getting adult-onset diabetes.

Many adults lose 10% of their muscle mass every 10 years. With exercise, an adult will only lose 2% of their muscle mass every 10 years.

Cell phones, computers and TV use for many hours a day contribute to our muscles wasting away.

Elderly people can prevent being frail. But you need to have movement in your life. Doing everything for the elderly, does not help them. Then they have no movement, which further causes more muscle wasting. Then they can fall just walking to go to the bathroom. So, you are not really helping the elderly by stopping them from doing things. They will get weaker and weaker. There can be some exceptions, due to medical conditions or disability.

Lifestyle change, not pills, make for better health. Until people make a lifestyle change, don’t expect things to ever get better. Sure, there are a few exceptions. The problem is that it takes effort to make a lifestyle change. It is far easier to take a pill. So, many people take the easy path.

Making some lifestyle change, one at a time, is better than not doing anything at all.
