I like to debunk this false statement created by Fred. Apparently, he has an axe to grind against Singapore or someone like Dr Mahathir, who is very anti-Chinese.

Jackie Chan is a Hong Kong A-list action star. He has been a Singapore permanent resident since 1998.

In 2009, Jet Li, who previously had US citizenship after years working in the United States, renounced his US citizenship. He has taken up Singapore citizenship. He was said to have chosen Singapore for its education system for his two younger daughters. Yes, Singapore's education system is world-class compared to many developed nations. Most Singaporeans born after the 1990s are effectively bilingual.

More than 225,000 Indians gave up their citizenship in 2022, the most in over a decade, according to data from India’s Ministry of External Affairs. The top countries that granted them citizenship between 2019 and 2021 were the United States, Canada, and Australia, statistics from India’s Ministry of Home Affairs showed in 2022. Singapore was the seventh-most popular destination, with around 7,000 Indians getting the red passport over the same period.

The new citizenship granted to foreigners is consistently between 18,000 to 22,000 every year. The government wants to gradually increase the number of talent in the country.

Software engineers Nguyen The Huy, 33, and Tran Thi Tuyet Mai, 33, both are from Vietnam. They became new citizens after working in Singapore for a decade or so after graduating from the National University of Singapore said they were attracted to the education system here. “We appreciate the diversity in the system and believe it will help our children gain a broader perspective of the world,” said Mr Huy.

The Government’s immigration policy has been to take in a stable and considered number of PRs and Singapore Citizens who are committed to making Singapore their home. Between 15,000 and 25,000 new citizenships are granted each year to individuals who have family ties with Singaporeans, or have studied, worked or lived here for some time. The majority of new citizens are from Southeast Asian Countries such as Malaysia.

Ron Kaufman the author behind New York best-seller book, Uplifting Service, has taken up Singapore citizenship. An awesome guy who provides coaching to many government agencies on service excellence. Singapore needs such talented people to build our society.

There are many other great and awesome people who has come to Singapore and call it their home.

Finally, please note Singapore is NOT a Chinese country. Our official language is Malay, our children are taught in English in school and our culture is multi-cultural.
