There is an Indian fellow named Nadeem Khan.
He did not like being just another Indian fellow very much — he wanted to become a caucasian Viking instead. So as the years passed, he worked out, got buff, grew a beard and dyed both his hair and beard blonde. He also bleached his entire skin to a pink-ish white complexion…
The blue contact lenses are a nice finishing touch, I have to say. The guy really ended up looking quite authentic. Like a Swedish dude who just happened to have gotten lost somewhere in India. It’s almost surreal…
Now you may mock the guy, of course. Some would call him mentally ill or make fun of him for hating his own identity as an Indian man. I have seen the comments online, and they aren’t pretty. Thing is — he had a dream, to become a certain type of man. And he became that man. He became exactly who he wanted to be…
There are limits to this philosophy, of course. But within those limits you’d be surprised by just how much you can change, if you set your mind to it. To a very large degree, we can forge our own destiny and recreate ourselves to our own liking. We are clay, and we can mould ourselves if we choose to do so.
