Can we just take a moment and give a round of applause to Prince Phillip rather than speculate if he has been totally faithful to his wife? He is a man with character and a man with principles.
This is a man who has been steadfast and loyal to his wife, Queen Elizabeth II for 73 years. Let me repeat that: SEVENTY THREE YEARS !!! It’s public knowledge that half of all marriages end in divorce. A man, such as Prince Philip, who is able to make the firm decision to stay committed to his wife in sickness and in health, through the good and the bad, certainly deserves to be commended.
Prince Philip may have his shortcomings. He can be a bit snarky and rude at times but he is LOYAL and never ceases to be supportive of his wife. Even during his senior years, a time when he should be retired, he can be seen next to his queenly wife carrying out acts of service and duty.
Prince Philip is not afraid of a woman who leads; a woman who has a position and status higher than he. Prince Philip recognized that there is strength in being a supportive fellow. He is the Queen’s backbone. He is a gold standard and men like him are rare!
When Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip chose to settle with each other in their youth, no one can say that they didn’t make great choices for themselves as they are both here today, still married to each other and still in love.
Yes, they may sleep in separate beds but this has more than likely been beneficial to their relationship. Research[1]has shown that couples who do so can achieve better sleep which could lead to a happier relationship. One thing is certain in Prince Philip and the Queen’s relationship: There is a good balance of individuality and togetherness, a key ingredient needed for a relationship to thrive.
Last but not least, Prince Philip is a man who doesn’t take himself seriously and he enjoys making others laugh including his wife. This is a quality that the queen loves most about her husband. She was born into royal duty and given a position which can be stressful at times. To be able to have moments of lighthearted laughter is like a breath of fresh air and the queen appreciates her husband all the more for it!
So rather than speculate if he’s been totally faithful, realize that no relationship is perfect. Instead, appreciate the fact that Prince Philip has remained committed to the queen for seventy three years.
