What's the worst thing an actress had to do in order to get a role in a movie?

The ordeal that Maria Schneider went through during Last Tango in Paris was absolutely appalling. She was nineteen years old and was not told beforehand what would happen — when her co-star Marlon Brando stripped her naked and simulated an anal rape scene with her, she felt horrified and violated. The movie had a profoundly negative effect on Schneider’s mental health going forward.

It’s been claimed before that she was actually raped on-set. This does not appear to be the case — not all-the-way raped, anyway. She was just forced to do things that made her tremendously uncomfortable. It messed her up. None of the things she was pressured into doing where in the script.

None of this is anything compared to the horrors the victims of Harvey Weinstein went through. He raped countless young starlets… it truly was a horrific ordeal, because Weinstein, on top of being facially hideous and had a horribly disfigured body… as a result of an illness in middle-age, Weinstein no longer had testicles, had lost much of his penis and was covered for a large part in terrifying scars.

Weinstein-accuser Jessica Mann claimed that Weinstein was not able to function sexually without directly injecting a needle into his deformed, broken penis. After which he would be able to attack the women. This has been stated by other victims as well.

The thought of being sexually harassed, raped or otherwise molested by a horrifically scarred, odious, odd-smelling obese eunuch with rage issues seems absolutely gruesome to me. Gruesome enough for many women to consider the ‘casting couch’ simply not worth it… Weinstein was like a horror straight from the mind of Stephen King.
