Here’s a simple recipe for making delicious noodles at home, packed with flavor and easy to prepare:
Ingredients:
- 200g noodles (any type: egg noodles, spaghetti, or instant noodles)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 inch ginger (minced)
- 1 small onion (sliced)
- 1 bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 carrot (julienned)
- 1 cup cabbage (shredded)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp chili sauce (optional for spice)
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt (to taste)
- Green onions (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Noodles:
- Boil water in a large pot, add a pinch of salt, and cook the noodles as per the package instructions until they're al dente (firm to bite).
- Drain the noodles and rinse them under cold water to stop cooking. Toss them with a little oil to prevent sticking and set aside.
2. Prepare the Stir-Fry:
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and ginger and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add sliced onions and cook until they become translucent.
- Toss in the carrots, bell pepper, and cabbage, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they soften but still have a slight crunch.
3. Flavor the Noodles:
- Add soy sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and a dash of sesame oil (if using) to the vegetables. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce.
- Season with black pepper and salt to taste.
4. Combine Noodles and Vegetables:
- Add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss everything together until the noodles are fully coated with the sauce and mixed with the vegetables. Cook for another 2 minutes.
5. Serve:
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot!
Tips for Extra Flavor:
- Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu for protein.
- For a spicy kick, sprinkle some crushed red pepper flakes.
- Use hoisin or oyster sauce for a richer flavor.
This recipe makes a quick, flavorful meal perfect for lunch or dinner!
