Have an egg-&-bacon don!
‘Donburi’ (丼, literally “bowl”, abbreviated to “-don” as a suffix, is anything served over rice in a bowl.
Panfry two eggs with liquidy soft centres and a rasher of back bacon. (Crispy is unnecessary in this instance; a lightly cooked omelette is a good sub.)
Place the cooked eggs-and-bacon over a bowl of white rice and then lash it with a mix of light soy sauce with dashes of Worcestershire sauce and a sprinkle of pepper/paprika powder. My go-to for that “tired appetite" moment.
(I have also had two uncooked egg yolks mixed thoroughly in a bowl of warm white rice, underneath a mixture of raw egg white, a spoonful of ev olive oil, a pinch of miso powder and a dash of black vinegar. Panfried bacon bits over the top. Crazy delicious!)
