Louis Vuitton

At 13, Louis was kicked out of his home by his stepfather. So he set off for Paris, about 450 km away. He took on various jobs; he was poor and did manual labor.

In Paris he was able to get a job in a sewing workshop and also learned the trade of saddler.

A saddler is someone who produces objects with a resistant leather that will allow him to make decorations even if the object is not a decorative object but for simple use.

Louis noticed how the clothes were transported, in trunks. But these trunks couldn't be stacked during transport because the lid was curved.

Louis invented the flat lid for trunks so they could be stacked and transported. It was his innovation that, at the age of 21, allowed him to open his own business, specializing in trunks and suitcases.

Currently, LV is a brand of distinction for the wealthy class in terms of clothing and accessories.

If a brand wants to succeed, it has to offer quality. Quality in the materials, in the finishes, and by paying close attention to the small details.

Sometimes we like a bag from the outside, but when we open it, the fabric is of inferior quality. I pay close attention to the zipper and the strap fasteners because I always carry a lot of weight and open it many times a day. The zipper can't fail me; it has to be thick and gold, like the fasteners. I don't like silver; it looks like an assembly line... hahaha

I never look for fashion brands, especially if they are made in a poor country with child labor.

When I look at brands, I research the staff who work with them, because it's one thing for workers to be paid little, and another for them to be exploited with minimum wages. When I was younger, I wore Nike shoes when I played sports, basketball, because I wasn't aware of the implications, but now I'm much more informed.

I look for the brand that suits me best, the practicality. I also can't stand soft bags; they're no different from a hiking backpack except in shape. You put your hand in there and everything moves around, you can't find anything quickly, ugh! But of course, they weigh less.

The fact that LV is quality can be seen in the photos of the celebrities it rents for its fashion shows each season.

In men's suits, I pay close attention to how the sleeves are constructed.

In my family, we always went to the dressmaker until consumerism took over with the rise of department stores. But a few years ago, there was no mass-produced clothing.

Men used to dress well, in suits, shirts, and ties. At least at work. Not anymore. Nowadays, everyone's in sneakers and jeans, like they're just lounging at home—comfort is everything. Students are the same; they always look like kids, even if they're adults, such childish clothing...

Well, it also depends on your workplace; there's a relaxation of the rules.

That's why we pay attention to Chinese and Koreans, because when they go to work, they dress well, and that catches our eye. It doesn't mean one is better than the other. The tattooed guy with dangling piercings is probably more intelligent than the well-dressed one. But as I said, being well-dressed attracts our attention.

That's what big brands do: attract attention with their outfits and their models.

That shows us that talent is as necessary as having a strong will to work, sacrifice, and I suppose he also found the necessary support.

In any case, we need to realize that FAMILY BACKGROUND DOESN'T MATTER. What matters is the person in front of you: who they are, how they behave, their personality, their values, their talent, their capacity for effort or sacrifice. That's what we should focus on... and if they're well-dressed, all the better!
