What is the scariest disease?

Fournier’s gangrene is the scariest thing I can think of.

Basically, it causes the entire genital region of a patient to become infected and rapidly rot away. Affecting about 60,000 men per year, this gruesome disease rots away a man’s flesh from the taint to his penis. The testicles rot, the penis changes color, and all tissue becomes necrotic and discolored amidst great and unbearable pain.

There is no cure — dead tissue can be cut away and heavy antibiotics prescribed may stop the advance of the rot, but once the rot has set in, affected areas will never fully recover. The patient’s entire crotch essentially rots away in a matter of days. If untreated, it is always fatal. When treated, the disease will leave a man dead from the waist down and unable to properly urinate or have intercourse ever again.

This is the disease that struck Harvey Weinstein after he turned sixty — as a result, he could only have intercourse if he injected a specific formula directly into his mangled Frankenstein-esque junk. This is one of the reasons that he was caught; all victims reported the same deformity.
