FBI files revealed over sixty years after Hemingway’s death revealed that they did in fact observe him, and that he was under near-constant surveillance. The famous author had befriended Cuban dictator Fidel Castro in his later years, and maintained a house in Cuba. So he was stalked by the FBI and being an observant man, he noticed. Only to be declared clinically insane and given treatments that caused his mental and physical state to rapidly deteriorate.

Ernest Hemingway had a genetic predespisition to depression. But he wasn’t a crazy person. He knew what he saw. And they gaslit the man into thinking he was mad, until he couldn’t take it anymore…
