For me, the Best President would be Ramon Magsaysay, also known as the “President of the Masses”.
He was a very good Statesman who led his country where trade and industry flourished and the AFP was at its “Prime”. He was the one who eliminated, if not extinguished the communist movement, the Hukbalahap (Hukbo ng bayan laban sa mga Hapon). His administration ranks 2nd as the most cleanest and non-corrupt government in Asia during that time.
He literally, opened the doors of Malacanang for even the common “tao” to visit and roam around the grounds and buildings.
His achievements both national and international, were so outstanding that it may be hard to compare to any past, present or future presidents to come. And he’s not even a politician, but a mechanic by profession. Maybe that’s why he’s good at fixing things.
He lost his life in a plane crash. He also had ‘political enemies” that some thought his plane was “rigged” to crash and made it look like an accident. A terrible loss for the country. Had he been alive long enough for a second term. the Philippines could have been industrialized just like Japan.
