Why did Trump win the 2024 election?

Trump won because the democratic election team is incompetent and out of touch with reality. Biden was already or became demented during his term, there were several ways to tackle this. The worst possible way was probably to pretend he wasn’t, and shout down anyone who said otherwise. They clearly knew and prepared a switcheroo move to put Kamala as the runner right near deadline for registering a new candidate. They treated the average voter like they were too stupid to understand this is what happened.

Then instead of getting a genuinely popular candidate, like Michelle Obama (who refused) or maybe someone fresh, they got someone who is associated with all the failures and cover up of the current administration. Not only that, but they chose a person who is black and a woman. While that may be fine to some, in the United States of America, this is a challenge. A barrier to be overcome. A great candidate if you are really popular and everyone is happy with what your doing.

Perhaps a less great candidate, if half the country is upset that you’re supporting Israel, and the other half is upset you’re supporting Ukraine. The response to all of this dissatisfaction, was to promise to use more money on foreign interests, while the US and many other places are in an economic downturn, partially caused by the foreign policy to begin with.

Furthermore, the democrats have chosen to be the champions of social movements that people just don’t really care about. For example, polls by Gallup[1] show that transgender issues is the topic that US voters cared the least about. Championing an issue that most people don’t care about, is simply not how you win elections. The most baffling thing about the way the campaigns over the past few years have bed led, is that their solution to this, is telling people how to feel, or denying criticism.

In essence, when it comes to virtue politics, the democrats went with the option of trying to annoy people. They did this very much in collaboration with their supporters inside media, which meant that democratic messages were and still is often seen in places which are contested. This meant that people who just wanted entertainment and escapism from their hard lives were forced to watch these messages, and in some cases see them fed to their kids. Now I don’t think these messages are morally bad, but you have to understand, that annoying people in their free time or trying to send overt political messages to their kids, that’s not going to win you any votes. The only people who like this, are people who already believe in those messages. So you are appealing to your core voters, who would vote for you no matter what you did, while you piss off those who are undecided. It doesn’t even matter if this is done by a corporation either, because the virtue language used by the democrats is so similar that it is obvious that they support it.

Finally, the democratic campaign were centered entirely around fear and comparison. Fear mongering is a thing that works, when your target has something to lose. Trump’s fear campaign is all about, the white middle class losing their status. But the Dems tried to appeal to the lower classes in the USA, by saying the Russians were gonna get them, and the Republicans might take their stuff. This doesn’t work so well because the Russian narrative is pretty irrelevant if you are already being crapped on by society, and the Republicans taking their stuff isn’t going to work if don’t have any to begin with.

The votes are still coming in but I am willing to bet quite a lot of money, that Trump isn’t going to win because he gained really any significant support. But because the democrats have lost millions of voters, by having overtly bad and annoying policy as well as completely out of touch issues to stand by. When the votes are counted, Trump will probably be fairly close to his 2020 numbers, while Kamala will be maybe 10 million below what Biden got.
