Most Thais can’t tell how they feel. Seriously, it’s their homes, and foreigners’ opinions are far from reality as most action-packed that happen daily in and around Bangkok are seemingly excitable to others, but for Thais, it’s just another day for us.
Just look at this exotic scene alone that was published worldwide, Thais don’t see it that way.
How does it feel like to live in Bangkok?
“Awesome” if you live in downtown Bangkok like Saladang, Lang Suan and Rajdamri Road, it’s comparable to a good neighborhood like NYC’s Greenwich Village or Singapore’s Holland Road… I need not explain.
But if you live in Sukhumvit 71 Soi 2, Suttisan area, Soi Sanamkli (behind Embassy’s row) Chok Chai 4, and Khlong Toei area (where the slums are), or any Thai communities, you get the taste of the locals depend on you guys, I mean foreigners.
It surely makes your life more colorful and lively as you gotta brave the crowd, and street vendors, including, motorcycles and cars every other second ( from dusk till dawn) —** May the shrewd one live.**
However, amidst traffic congestion daily, chaotic and unruly effects on everything you see and feel but look beyond that- you will see the real gem in muddy water, so to speak. Why so?
Living in Bangkok It’s a stress-free society if you are the average expat not overly indebted nor living your life like Romeo or Juliet and live in the Nana vicinity and Soi Cowboy area. I mean you live a decent life as a one-woman man and work to pay the rent, you will like Bangkok the way it is.
Great choices of everything you need, with people who leave you alone, great choices of transport and life is not monotonous and predictable like your life back home.
- Let daily happenings in Thailand belong to the Thai whether the news is flooded daily with road accidents, murders, homicides, feuds, and scams committed by Thais cheat Thais. ( Most foreigners don’t even know)
Having that mindset, and a resolution “ To hell with it” You are just a guest in this country until the day you leave—Once you step into your home country and get back to your life—you will miss Bangkok.
For that matter, I’m not going anywhere I feel great in Bangkok and safe on my sofa with my wife and the two bunnies.
“Yup! We both are Dutch but we too, like Bangkok not going home!”
