Do Christians believe that God accepts gays?

Yup! Oh, there are those who can’t, or won’t, but they’re a minority. Mostly, it’s their own tribal beliefs masquerading as doctrine. They were taught to hate gays, or whatever bit of silliness. And to give emphasis to the idea, those who teach it wrap it in a cloak of religiosity. Even though the Bible (and more importantly, Jesus) never actually mentions it.

If you want to know what the bare-bones minimum is to be a Christian, look to the Nicene Creed. The idea that God had a hate-on for gays is contrary to what the bible says. In fact, Jesus tells us just the opposite; that the only “unforgivable sin is “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit”, which I understand to mean being a false prophet.

Mark, chapter 3, says it pretty clearly, I think. “28 Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.” Note the phase “all their sins.” God isn’t “keeping score”; saying “You continued to sin, even after you found Me. Therefore, you go to Hell.” If He was, we’d all of us go to hell. Rather, our sins are “paid in full” (even the ones we haven’t committed yet) by the sacrifice of His Son.
