Mostly just that she lost?
I mean if she had won, people would praise her now.
She would be receiving so many compliments. She’d be applauded, cheered for, gracing the cover of magazines… but she lost, so now she’s “the worst candidate ever”.
On the picture above, she playing some game with her great-nieces, the daughters of her niece. She looks… pretty normal, to me? It humanizes her, after all the drama and over-the-top boosting, the praise, the Beyoncé and Taylor Swift endorsements, the concerts and memes, the endless pushing. She was never going to be the Messiah. At the end of the day, she’s just some middle aged lady. She could have made history, and if she did we’d all be having a very different conversation. Instead she became the second female presidential candidate to represent her party — and the second one to lose to the same guy, this time more decisively than the first lady who attempted the same feat, Hillary Clinton. You either win, or you disappear in shame.
Most of all, what I dislike is the hype. You take a vice president, tell her: “Okay, you run the show now” and throw her in the deep before checking if she can swim. Biden named her his successor, gave his endorsement, reportedly without consulting with other party bigwigs. They were kinda forced to go along with it… the result? Her party lost the senate, the house, the White House. Lost everything. And she’s the scapegoat.
