Will Marine Le Pen's sentencing impact her chances of a win should she run for the French presidency in 2027?

Once convicted of a crime, a French politician cannot run again for public office — at least not for five years, perhaps never. Marine Le Pen is not the only one this has happened to, other European countries have similar laws. Italy’s Silvio Berlusconi was also convicted, and as a result his political career died on the vine.

Marine Le Pen has visited Russia before, been to Moscow, spoken before the Russian Duma (parliament) and has met with Putin on several occasions. A Russian bank funded her initial run for higher office, in 2017. She is well-known for being one of Putin’s creatures in Europe. Seeing her get disqualified for being the corrupt, spiteful and traitorous cretin she is, is a beautiful day for not only France, but for all of Europe, the West and indeed the whole world.

Marine Le Pen cannot run in 2027. And I hope she never does, again. Or that by the time she has the chance, her puppet master in the Kremlin is dead and buried. It is also nice to see European countries like France still following the rule of law and not allowing convicted criminals to run for office — wish they would have tried that in America, would have saved us all a world of trouble.
