What do you do when people look down on you?

Remind yourself that all those people will be dead some day, and so will you. That each of these people have unresolved trauma of their own. Have issues, have insecurities, and struggles unseen. That tall, handsome fellow who snubbed you? He may be impotent or on the verge of bankruptcy. That gorgeous lady who was so arrogant to you? She may have an eating disorder and may hate herself or parts of herself she will never show the world or speak of.

You don’t know… that’s the beauty of life, and the tragedy. You don’t have any clue what others struggle with, what ails them. But rest assured, they do have issues. We all do. You have some advantages over other people. Physically, emotionally, psychologically or financially. You may have a better IQ or EQ. You may have better facial features, you may be in better shape, or you may have more friends, or more genuine friends, or a better relationship with your family. There absolutely, without a doubt, is something you have that they don’t.

So remind yourself of that. Remind yourself of how you have something others don’t have. Anything, really. Because there always is something. No one in this world is perfect — least of all those who have to look down on others just to feel better about themselves.
