Rice is eaten as rice in Japan. It's white rice with no seasoning.
It's like a white canvas.
We draw a picture on it by 'side dishes'.
Therefore, there are not many ways to cook rice in Japan.
The famous way to cook rice is to cook something together.
It's called takikomi gohan.
