This morning, on my way to work, I saw a pregnant woman standing by the roadside. She looked like she was in a lot of pain—she was in labor.
She had probably been waiting a long time for a taxi, but no one wanted to stop for her. A few women were around her, trying to comfort her. The small crowd caught my attention.
At first, I drove past them. But then, I changed my mind, turned around, and offered to take her to the hospital.
As I drove, she was restless, shouting, and clearly uncomfortable. Honestly, I was terrified. What if something went wrong? What would I do?
Her pain got worse, and before I could even say, "Madam, take it easy," she gave birth—to a baby boy—RIGHT IN MY CAR. And then, she said, "There’s another one coming!"
I didn’t know whether to stop or keep driving. But I was frozen with fear. ๐จ๐ญ
I took a deep breath, gathered all the little safety and first-aid knowledge I had, and kept going.
We made it to the hospital, and the nurses rushed to help her. Within minutes, she gave birth to her second baby—a healthy boy.
The mother and her twins are doing great.
But me? I’m still in shock.
Every time I think about how I drove that car, I feel tears in my eyes.
Thank you, God, for letting me be there for this woman and her babies. ๐
