Can Donald Trump be taken to court for violation of human right for deporting innocent immigrants?

He’s really pushing his luck in a lot of ways. The recent arrest of Mahmoud Khalil is a fine example. Khalil has a green card, studied in the US and works as a lawyer. He has been involved in pro-Palestine protests in America. Now he’s been arrested.

Mr. Khalil never broke any laws. He did not post any hateful commentary that goes against US laws. He did not attack police. Did not rile up crowds or instruct them to riot. No, he just expressed his right of free speech. Just as Trump does. Now, he’s been arrested and detained. The goal is to remove him from the country. Because the current administration has vowed to act tough against protesters. Especially the pro-Palestine ones, which they mindlessly equate to “terrorism” or “sympathy for terrorism”…

I wonder if Trump would detain and kick out Israeli citizens with green cards for participating in protests? I doubt it. But Mahmoud Khalil, a lawyer who refused to cower and hide his face behind masks, has been targetted directly precisely for his refusal to hide in anonimity… I do hope this makes it to court — because this is a case Mahmoud Khalil could, and should, win, provided America still has a functional legal system.
