No, of course not.
He did not reach his objectives yet — Ukraine is not under his control, is not demilitarized, in fact it is more heavily militarized than ever before…
It is not pro-Russian, but is led by a pro-Western government that is now more anti-Russian than ever before in recent history. Many Ukrainian families have lost friends and loved ones to the war. Ukrainians hate Russia so much that even a statue of the poet Alexander Pushkin has been removed.
What Russia wants is to ensure Ukraine never joins NATO, that it surrenders it arms and that it, ideally, elects or “elects” a puppet government that is friendly towards Moscow. It wants a Ukraine that can never again be seen as a “threat” to Russia. Which is some major victim-blaming nonsense because Ukraine has a long history with Russia, filled with excellent reasons NEVER to trust Russia…
From 1932 to 1933, Russia withheld grain transports to Ukraine. Deliberately. Millions of Ukrainians perished, starved to death. All this to break the will of this mighty and brave people. In 1994, Russia promised never to invade Ukraine, in exchange for Ukraine surrendering its nuclear arsenal. Ukraine agreed… then in 2014, Russia invaded Crimea and annexed it. And, also in 2014, Russia sent Wagner Group militias into the Donbass to destabilize it. They then held a “referendum” at gunpoint to “claim independence”…
Russia has been messing with Ukraine since well before Putin was even born. Back when Putin’s grandfather, Spiridon Putin, was still the personal chef of Stalin, the man responsible for the Holodomor. And he will NOT rest until Ukraine is neutralized. Any “peace deal” won’t be a peace deal at all — it’ll be a temporary ceasefire, allowing Russia to play nice, get sanctions lifted, rearm and have another go at crushing Ukraine a year or two down the line.
