Why did George Foreman have 5 wives?

Because some men are just larger than life. George Foreman was one such man. Twelve children by five wives. Seven daughters, five sons, and each of his sons was called George, too. In his own words, he named them all the same because:

"I named all my sons George Edward Foreman so they would always have something in common. I say to them, 'If one of us goes up, then we all go up together, and if one goes down, we all go down together!'"

George Foreman lived a long life, and a blessed life. He lived long enough to see many of his boxing adversaries pass before him. A jolly and kind man outside the ring, Foreman once held up an elderly Muhammad Ali, suffering from Parkinson’s disease, by the arm at an event to prevent him from falling down. He was a class act.

Foreman lived long enough to see his children, grandchildren and even several great-grandchildren being born. In his final post on social media, in November 2024, he said that the only thing he wanted to do in life at this point was “to help others”. He said this was all he prayed for.

George Foreman was a heavyweight boxing champion, a minister, a published author and the advertiser of the famed “George Foreman Grill”. He won 76 boxing matches, 68 of which by knockout, losing only five times. His grill sold 100 million units. If any man deserved five wives, it was George Foreman!
