What happens if you publicly protest against Putin in Russia?

You suffer from Putinitis.

A curious condition, it commonly manifests as a sudden and complete loss of motor skills when approaching balconies. It disproportionately affects those who speak against Putin or his interests.

Just in the last few years:

Pavel Antov, a wealthy Russian businessman, fell out of a hotel window whilst holidaying in India. He’d criticised the Ukraine invasion in a Whatsapp message, saying "It’s extremely hard to call this anything other than terror”.

Dan Rapoport, a Latvian Jew, fell out of his high-rise building in Washington, DC. The investor was a prominent Putin detractor.

Grigory Kochenov fell out of his apartment window in Russia whilst police were searching his apartment. He was a vocal critic of the Ukraine invasion.

Vladimir Shklyarov, Russian ballet dancer, fell from his apartment balconey at the end of last year. He’d publicly condemned the Ukraine invasion.

These join around over 70 detractors and rich Russians who’ve suddenly dropped dead since 2022.

Strange, innit?
