What's the coolest way someone has ever won?

Let's meet John Carpenter,

The first man to win a million dollars on the United States show Who Wants to be a Millionaire, which took place on November 19, 1999.

Carpenter is very cool, very smart in fact. Because, of the many questions he answered, not one of them used the 'help option'

The man born on December 24, 1967 answered all questions very quickly and correctly. He truly mastered the 'battlefield' in front of him.

Even the host looked confused and amazed at Carpenter's skill in answering the questions he threw.

Until Carpenter came to the final question, which was 'Which of the following US Presidents appeared on the television series Laugh-in?'

The host smiled broadly and started chuckling when he saw Carpenter's face starting to look confused with a slightly furrowed brow.

The atmosphere suddenly became quiet and increasingly tense when Carpenter said:

"I will use the help option which is to call a friend"

'

"Who do you want to contact?"

Asked the host with a big smile.

"My Father"

Carpenter's answer was firm.

Without waiting long, the call was connected to John's father. The host gave instructions about the time limit for questions,

"John you have thirty seconds. Time starts now!"

Everyone including the host automatically thought that John would throw questions and answer choices as fast as possible to his father. Then ask his father to choose the correct answer.

It turns out that everyone's assumptions at that time were wrong, my friend!

"Hey dad, how are you? I don't need your answer to this last question. I just want to say, that soon I will be a millionaire."

John said while laughing and staring closely at the host's face for the remaining eighteen seconds.

The next second John Carpenter said,

"I would be a Millionaire, because the US president who appeared on the television series Laugh-in was Richard Nixon and that was my final answer"

Yups, most confident and gutsiest move in game show history. John Carpenter is a legend.

And,

Own it like a Boss!
